Formed in 1947, the same year as their coastal rivals Manly, the Eels were built to represent Western Sydney—and they’ve carried that badge with pride ever since.

The 1980s: A Dynasty Was Born
The Eels didn’t just win in the 80s.

Between 1981 and 1986, they made five Grand Finals, winning four. Their roster was stacked with names that still echo through club lore:
